Silwerstrand Holiday Resort is located in the Breede River Valley near the town of Robertson (approx 2 km away) within the Silwerstrand Golf Estate.  The camp sites are located on the banks of the Breede River.  The campsite is located 157 kms from Cape Town and the drive will take you approximately 2h00m.

There are 60 level, grassed sites arranged along the banks of the Breede River.  There is a road which runs alongside the river and the camp sites are arranged along this road.  This allows all campers easy access to the river, without having to impede on the privacy of others. Most sites have trees that afford some shade.  The campsites are well demarcated and separated from each other with trees allowing for some degree of privacy.

Each campsite has its own electricity connection for a standard three pronged plug.  The plug points are  located close at hand, so extension cords are not required.

There are large ablution facilities,  consisting of separate  mens and ladies bathrooms.  Both communal ablutions have hot and cold water and consist of 5 showers, 7 toilets, basins and a bath.  The ablutions are maintained and cleaned on a regular basis.

Each site has its own square brick braai and wood  can be purchased on-site

Taps with drinkable water are shared between two sites.

Bins are provided at each site.

There is a separate scullery for washing your dishes, with basins and drying space.  There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer on hand should you need to do some laundry.

We, as a family, love camping in the Breede River Valley and have been to many of the campsites in and around Robertson.  I must confess, until I started compiling these blogs on camping sites in the Western Cape, I was unaware of this resort.  I will need to add this one to my list of sites to try out.
